LiDAR Scan 3D — Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Information We Collect
LiDAR Scan 3D has no accounts. We don't ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other contact details, and the app doesn't send your scans or personal information to us or to any server we operate.
To work, the app processes the following on your device: camera images and LiDAR depth data while you scan, the 3D models it creates, a name and date for each scan, a record of whether you've used your free scan, and whether you've seen the welcome screen.
Camera and LiDAR Usage
Camera and LiDAR access is used only while you're scanning an object. The camera is not used at any other time.
Photos captured during a scan are stored temporarily in the app's private cache so your device can build the 3D model. They're deleted when the scan finishes or is cancelled.
How Scan Data Is Processed
3D models are reconstructed entirely on your device using Apple's Object Capture technology and saved in the app's private storage.
A scan leaves your device only when you choose to share, export, print or view it in AR. When you share or export a scan, the app or service you choose handles it under its own privacy policy.
If device backups are turned on (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), your saved scans may be included in those backups under your Apple Account settings.
Device Information
The app checks on your device whether it supports LiDAR object capture. It doesn't collect or store device identifiers.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting software and does not track you.
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports and aggregated usage statistics under Apple's privacy policy.
Purchases
The Lifetime Premium upgrade is sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. The app checks whether you own it on your device using Apple's StoreKit.
Third-Party Services
Apart from Apple's App Store and StoreKit, the app doesn't use third-party services.
Data Retention
Scans stay on your device until you delete them in the app or delete the app.
A count of free scans used is stored in your device's keychain so that reinstalling the app doesn't grant another free scan. It contains no personal information and stays on the device.
Data Security
Scans are kept in the app's private storage, protected by iOS sandboxing and data protection.
Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be available in the app with a new "last updated" date.
