On other iPhones the app explains this and scanning isn't available. Tips for a good scan Use bright, even light and a plain surface. Walk slowly around the object and keep it in the frame. Matte objects with visible texture scan best; very shiny, transparent or thin objects may not reconstruct well. Building the model can take a few minutes. Pricing Your first completed scan is free. We don't ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other contact details, and the app doesn't send your scans or personal information to us or to any server we operate. To work, the app processes the following on your device: camera images and LiDAR depth data while you scan, the 3D models it creates, a name and date for each scan, a record of whether you've used your free scan, and whether you've seen the welcome screen. Camera and LiDAR Usage Camera and LiDAR access is used only while you're scanning an object. The camera is not used at any other time. Photos captured during a scan are stored temporarily in the app's private cache so your device can build the 3D model. They're deleted when the scan finishes or is cancelled.
